Why I chose to study Japanese?
I chose to study Japanese because I love the culture and plan on visiting my brother; who plans to move to Japan. He met his wife when he was a Marine stationed in Okinawa. One of my favorite movies is Spirited Away and I'm very excited I might be able to enjoy it in it's intended language. My brother also introduced me to Japanese music, two of my favorite Japanese bands right now are indigo la End and Frederic. The hardest part for me so far is pronunciation; but now that I'm able to read Hiragana, I find it a little easier than romaji.

Not sure about favorite music bands though, I'll check out indigo la End and Frederic and I might have my favorite bands too!!!
Stay cool, you'll be a master at pronouncing Hiragana, Katakana, AND Kanji at the end of semester!!!!
I'm a fan of Indigo la End too...you'll be improving very quickly in pronunciation if you make watching Japanese tv shows a relaxing habit cuz they use fairly easy but trendy ways of expressions XD
ReplyDeleteIt seems like having family ties to the country will be a great motivator to "まいあさべんきょうします。” I'm trying to also get into Japanese music, but I'm finding JPop not as enjoyable as Kpop, but hopefully I can use other media/movies/anime to practice Japanese.

Oh, your brother's gonna be in living in Japan then. I'm sure you'll improve your pronunciation, and probably even more if you visit him and stay over there for a while. I'll be sure to check those bands out when I have time.
